Is it just me?

Is It Just Me?
There are days when I think, “Is it just me? Or does anyone else think that morality, common decency, politeness and manners have fallen by the wayside in this country”?
As I watch the actions of various T.V. and movie actors, sports figures and others that occupy prominent positions in our country (like “Wild Willie”,our former President of the U.S.), I see and hear very few examples of decency, morals and the simple admonition to “Just do the right thing”.
Am I crazy, or did we allow a President to get away with the offensive and repugnant acts he admitted to committing with a young lady almost his daughters age? Have we lionized athletes repeatedly, in spite of their multiple run-ins with the law for using dope, sexual offenses, assault and battery or fighting dogs?
There is something wrong here! I usually don’t mind, and may even laugh at, a good dirty joke. But not if offends or embarrasses someone else present at the time.
I would never consider swearing loudly in a public place. I don’t talk loudly during a movie. I open doors for ladies, senior citizens and anyone else that needs a helping hand. I hope that doesn’t make me extraordinary or uncommon. But, it seems to make me “one of the few” these days!
And frankly, it’s beginning to irritate me a bit. So much so, that I may decide to start a one man crusade to improve the quality of life around here. I think a good start would be to start snatching the nose rings off of some of the foul mouthed people I have to endure.
Well. . . , maybe that’s a bit drastic, but I’m going to start some sort of revolution! . . . pretty soon too!
(sigh) Sad, but true.
Bolt cutters work great on the nose rings, and what about taking a belt sander to some of those really offensive tattoos?
